CAOHC Certification Courses are to educate, train and certify an Occupational Hearing Conservationist (OHC). An OHC is someone who assists their company in audiometric testing, education/training employees about hearing protection devices, and maintaining records within the company’s Hearing Conservation Program (HCP). OSHA, MSHA, FRA, DoD all recognize this certification.

All CAOHC certification courses and CAOHC recertification classes involve lectures, videos, discussion, and hands-on practicum Practicum includes: conducting otoscopy, administering a manual hearing test, fitting a variety of hearing protection devices.
All courses offered are approved by CAOHC. Students must first complete the 20-hour course, pass the practicum and certification examinations to become an Occupational Hearing Conservationist (OHC). Once a student becomes an OHC, their certification is valid for 5 years.
After 5 years, you are required to complete an 8-hour CAOHC recertification class as well as pass the practicum and certification examination in order to renew your OHC certification.
The online CAOHC Certification Exam will be given by the CAOHC Course Director. This will occur at the end of the Certification and Recertification Courses. Students will need to bring a laptop to class in order to complete the examination. After the exam is completed, results are visible to the student once the Certification Exam is submitted.
